I got Java Minecraft - with mods - running on my M4 iPad Pro.
I side loaded a tool called Amethyst Launcher. It requires a lot of setup, not easy to do, and requires weird JIT stuff - but once it's done, it's absolutely awesome.
You don't get the best rendering settings, and you get a hot iPad, but you get Java MC on your iPad. And after all, isn't that what we all want?
